Date Constructed: 1925 or 1928
Address: 821 West Broadway
Current Building Name: eon Company
Earlier Building Names: Sears Roebuck & Company; Louisville, Gas and Electric
Architect: Nimmons, Carr and Wright
Builder: Unknown at this time
Current Status: In use
Designation (if applicable): Unknown at this time.

The LG&E building is located at 821 West Broadway. It sits between 8th Street and Roy Wilkins Blvd. (previously 9th Street). The building consists of a tower with two wings. The east wing was apparently added on (extended) in 1981, according to a plaque on it. The architectural design of the newer extension matches the original portion of the building superbly! The building has a very good display of the Art Deco zig-zag (chevron) motif in its brickwork. There are some nice geometric carvings along some of the windows and along the top of the roofline (although the photos below don't show enough contrast to properly appreciate their design).
